Not very long ago, most homeowners never even thought about including video surveillance into their overall home security plans. But today things are different. The good news is that the cost of all security equipment has dropped a bit in recent years. As it has become more available, it has become more popular and vital for these security functions..

And, that also means that in today’s hi-tech world, even an average, ordinary family is able to install a good home safety security system without breaking their budget.. It has not been much more than about a dozen years ago that the only place you would see this kind of sophistication in remote video surveillance cameras, was in big business establishments or government facilities.

One of the most popular features of a home security system that integrates video surveillance is to include the option to have the video feeds sent to the internet. This means that busy parents who are concerned about how things are going back home, can log into a password protected website and view the live feeds from the various cameras in their network.

Not only is this helpful for moms and dads who put in long hours at the office, but this IP video surveillance arrangement is also perfect for the person who travels a great deal and is concerned about their home security while away. Some of the home security systems also monitor things like temperature and moisture levels. For homeowners who have leaky water pipes or tropical aquariums that must maintain certain temperatures, this can provide a tremendous amount of peace of mind when they are away.

Many home security systems provide monitoring as well that keep tabs on all the various indicators of home safety. This includes alarms that go off, and notify the monitoring center in case of intrusion, fire, a panic button being pressed, temperature drops and changes in moisture levels. The monitoring center can then dispatch the appropriate help for the situation.

However, it should be noted that the monitoring centers do not have access to the video surveillance part of the home security system. This is only available to the homeowner and is accessible only through a secure network. A security company does not eavesdrop on home activities.

Home safety security measures will likely continue to be an increasing trend with families in all stages of life. While the world seems to be getting much smaller because of the lightning speed of communication in many ways it is also much more dangerous than ever. Having a reliable home security surveillance system or Home Security Alarm Systems in place will provide protection for the premises and people within the walls, and your peace of mind.

Wireless cameras have become increasingly prevalent in today’s society, and are used for a variety of purposes. This article serves to give you a basic overview of the different types of wireless camera available, and how they are used.

Security Wireless Camera

An outdoor wireless security camera can be used in a home security system, indoors and outdoors. Wireless cameras come in all shapes and sizes. Some types are waterproof and can be hidden away in outdoor plants or other nooks and crannies. There are also wireless video cameras with night vision.

One advantage of using a wireless camera for outdoor security is that one does not need to do extensive preparatory setups or wiring. If you decide you would like to have your camera in a different location, you simply move it over.

A wireless security camera is also good for temporary purposes – for example, if you want to have it in a certain location for a specific event or time period, it is easy to do so and then move it later.

Wireless Spy Camera

A spy cam is just what the name says – a hidden wireless camera used to spy on people. Modern forms and uses of spy cams seem to be becoming more and more creative. They can be incorporated into pens, can be as small as a USB flash key, disguised in glasses, or simply so tiny that it is easy to conceal them within clothing. Some spy cameras also come with tiny microphones and listening/recording devices. You can even get a backpack with a hidden camera in it (perhaps this is useful in case you want to keep close watch on whoever is hiking behind you.)

A Nanny Cam

Surveillance cameras can be used by parents to keep an eye on their children’s babysitters (to make sure they don’t abuse the children, or raid the fridge too often), or they can be used by nannies to keep an eye on the children themselves. They can also be used to watch over pets from afar or from another room. These wireless cameras can get innovative too – one recent example I saw is disguised in an air-freshener. In some cases, these wireless cameras come with portable hand-held monitors so that you can always have an eye on your child as you move through the house.

Some types of wireless nanny cameras (or surveillance cameras) display the image on a cell phone (if compatible), PDA, Internet web browser, or a standard video display. Some are even equipped with heat sensors and will alert you by email if someone enters a room.

These cameras also have remote control functions so that you can change their position and pan to get a new view, from wherever you are.

There seems to be a misconception that cameras for home security may be a waste of time because they don’t have the ability to stop a crime from happening. That’s true in a physical sense but yes, they can stop crimes from happening and do so every day.

The power of home security cameras lies in the fact they are effective as a deterrent. When people know they are there then there persona seems to change. When you know you’re being watched how do you behave. From an intruder’s point-of-view, it may seem foolhardy to break into a home with security camera coverage when there are those homes without them.

Can you see the deterrent for intruders here? Many home owners actually like to make it known they have security camera coverage simply because intending intruders will look for easier pickings. So yes, home security cameras can definitely play a major part in crime prevention.

Home Security Cameras

There are many different types of home security cameras but one choice you have to make is which type to buy regarding how it records. Motion sensor home security cameras only begin recording when they sense movement.

This is great for a security camera because it will only catch the footage if someone breaks into your home. If you have pets, however, this could become a problem because the home security cameras can’t differentiate between the family dog and a would be burglar.

The home security cameras that record all the time are also great cameras. These record constantly, meaning they will catch anything and everything that goes on within its range of vision. The problem with these types of security cameras is that, if something does happen, you’re going to have to rewind through all that tape in order to find the part that includes the break in. However, a constant recording home security camera can make you feel safer because there’s no question as to whether it caught anything or not.

If you do fall victim to a home invasion, you can then take the footage that you gleaned from your home security camera and you can take it right to the police. It might be a good idea, for extra security, to have several home security cameras placed throughout your home. You should have one facing each entry way and maybe one in the living room, or anywhere else where you keep lots of valuables like TVs and other electronics.

You can’t be everywhere at once but it’s nice to know that a security camera is constantly keeping an eye on things while you’re gone.

When we think of Self Defense Products these days usually one thing comes to mind… That’s pepper spray. But when we think of pepper spray, we are thinking of the most modern use of this substance . It has been in existence for a long time . No, maybe not in the same convenient form that we know of today but the basis was still there same.

To understand how pepper stay has been around so long you must first understand the makeup of pepper spray . A lot of people believe that pepper spray is some crazy mystery compound made of all sorts of crazy stuff and the only reason the word pepper is used is so it sounds nicer. The is surely not the truth. The makeup is very simple it is an extract of oleoresin capsicum from the chili pepper. For the most part is all nature but it can be purified to make it very intense .

Now that we know where pepper spray actually comes from we can understand how it has been used for so long. It goes all the way back to China hundreds of years ago . It was not uncommon for hot pepper s to be crushed up and used on en enemy. The extreme burning and blinding of oleoresin capsicum made it a perfect weapon for close quarters combat. In fact it can even be traced to some early ninjas. It was very apparent from early on that this was a very effective defense tool.

In the 1960′s pepper spray starting moving towards the modern version that we all know . During that era there was a lot of research and development that went into designing developing different nerve agents such as tear gas. As a result of all this research there were several different types of crowd control agents developed including pepper spray.

In the 1980′s it was marketed under the name Halt Animal Repellent and was primarily used by postal workers to defend themselves from dogs. Pepper spray was soon picked up by hunters and forestry agents as a way to defend against animals . Still at this time it was not widely use by the public.

It wasn’t until the 1990s that pepper spray really started to take hold. The FBI promoted it as an effective crowd control method and soon thousands of police forces adopted it. Once it was standard issue forthe majority of law officers it moved its way to the general product. By then it had been made much easier to have your own pepper spray due to the small sizes of the containers. You also didn’t have to worry about where can i buy pepper spray because many stored took it on. It made it a very easy self defense option for many men and women.

Even today pepper spray still stands as the most popular self defense weapon out there . It comes in many different shapes and sizes starting small with a keychain pepper spray, then moving up to mid size bottles for your purse or pocket and finally you have the extra large sizes for your home or business.

Pepper spray is an extremely effective way to keep yourself safe. It packs a huge punch and will take down almost any attacker. I defiantly recommend it to everybody.

Have you ever wished you had a wireless hidden camera to catch someone doing something on tape? Most of us have. You might have thought of catching your roommate using your shampoo or your kids jumping on their beds. Perhaps you want to put your hidden camera to more high-minded use and watch your babysitter or keep an eye on your teenage daughter and her boyfriend while they’re watching movies.

Chances are, you’ve thought of using a camera both for little, trivial things and for more serious purposes like protecting your kids. Who hasn’t wanted to set up a motion detector in the front yard and catch the neighbor’s dog doing his business in their shrubs? Or put up a hidden camera next to the exit and catch coworkers leaving early while we stay on and finish our work?

The cool thing about these is how much you can do with them. You can get a wireless hidden camera that looks like a DVD player and stick it in the kids’ room to find out if they’re really going to bed, or staying up playing on the computer. Want to spy on the company fridge and see who’s taking your lunch? Set up a plant looking spy cam that won’t be noticed.

For more serious purposes, you can set one up that looks like a mantel clock or an air freshener and keep an eye on the babysitter or your teenagers. Or put an EXIT sign spy cam at the back door of your building to catch your employees leaving early.

Technology has reached the point where, no matter what you want to do with your wireless hidden camera, you can find one for your needs – from disguised cameras for the home and workplace to button cameras, pen cams and other body-worn spy cameras. If you can think of a use, you can find one to fill the need.
